Bentonville:

Bentonville is a place that needs no introduction! It lives up to the hype! I was skeptical it was as good as it is for a place that doesn’t have a lot of terrain to work with. The trail builders have done an absolutely incredible job putting the entire trail network together. To top things off, the main part of town is accessible from (almost) anywhere to enjoy a post ride beer and tacos! The trail network is fully equipped with tools, bike work stations, bathrooms, and even water stations. There is something for everyone here. From the first time rider to the most experienced, everyone will have a blast here! There are some amazing bike shops offering rentals as well.

Coler Mountain Bike Preserve:

Coler is a superbly well put together trail system. All the trails have climbs that are very easy and allowing for you to ride laps all day. There is a also a central pathway that connects both halves of the trail system so you can easily park in one place and access the entire park. If you want to spend a weekend here, there is an incredibly nice campground located AT Coler Mountain Bike Preserve. Click HERE for the campground. It has firepits, tent platforms, and very nice restrooms and showers, They are very clean and bug free for the most part! They have water station and even a bike wash station. Coler also has a café that sells coffee, smoothies, snacks, and some other great stuff so you don’t even need to leave the preserve!

Pedal Assist: (Green)

This is a paved climbing trail nearly the entire way with a very mellow grade. Incredibly easy climb that allows for numerous laps and endless amounts of fun. We did something like 8 laps on this and were still feeling not too terrible!

Fire Line: (Blue)

Access from the top of Pedal Assist. Full of big berms, medium to large jumps, and a big roller that can be dropped. High speeds and good times to be had here. Super fun trail to ride with friends as a train! one of those trails that is great for progressing and learning for maintaining high speeds, clearing jumps, and railing berms. One of those rides you could lap all day and still not get bored.

***Hardway to Cafe: (Black)

This is possibly one of my favorite trails we rode in Coler Mountain Bike Park. Its very fast, got some big drops and fun spots you can send it if you want. Has one huge roller towards the end that looks like one massive drop from the back side. This trail feels a lot like you are surfing all the way down. Amazing!

Rock Salad: (Black)

This is a mediocre trail. Use the Pedal Assist trail to access. Maybe not worth it in my opinion. It is very rocky and chunky. A bit more like old school tech perhaps. However, it is a fairly flat trail and not a lot of speed until the end after a couple switchbacks. Not really much to it really that would draw me back.

**Rock Solid: (Double Black)

Absolute blast of a trail if you enjoy enduro style riding. Some big senders and lots of rocky chunky goodness. A couple steep, tight, and rocky spots that are a definitely technical. Might not be a double black, but definitely earns a black tech rating without question. It is a super fun and fast trail that is extra fun to find some session spots with some friends! Access from top of Pedal Assist.

**Thunder Dome: (Blue)

This is the Dual Slalom trail here! It is very well built! Lots of smooth berms, pumps, and jumps with some neat rollers! Use the Thunder Dome pathway to climb to the top. It is a very easy, short, mellow climb.

Family Flow: (Green)

A great warmup trail for the day. Easy climb up and only about .5 miles. Very first bit of climb of steep but after that, it is smooth sailing. Small jumps and lots of pumping. Not the most exciting but still fun and worth the climb.

Applegate: (Green)

Just a paved path that cuts all the way through Coler Park. Very flat and fast. Be weary of lots of families with children walking and running on this path. Good to use if you want to save your legs and see as much of the Park as you can to ride the fun stuff!

Park Spring Park Trails:

One of the smaller trail systems in Bentonville, but also one of the closest rides from town. Has multiple trails branching off a wooden bridge start. Easy climbing to reach the start and session lines built into each trail. A really fun place if you just want to run laps in really any condition.

Choo Choo: (Blue)

This is a paved jump and berm trail. Extremely fun and ridable all year long. Starts from he top of a wooden bridge start. You can ride the first few table tops and berms and take the exit line back to the top for endless sessions on this. Great place to practice these with confidence. When done, take the trail to the bottom and ride massive berm after massive berm to the bottom for an amazing “surfing” sensation!

Rocking Horse: (Green)

A very simple, smooth, flat trail to connect to Slaughter Pen trails for some extra pizaz to your day.

Slaughter Pen Trails:

This is maybe my wife and I favorite system we rode while in Bentonville. Has some neat freeride parks complete with drop zones to practice at. Easy access paved paths all around to go all over the area effortlessly. Filled with water stations and bike repair stations to keep you riding all day. In the southeast corner of the trail system is where the downhill trails are located. These are insanely awesome. Incredibly well built jump lines varying in size as well as 2 technical trails that are super fun. The climb back to the start is pretty easy. Fun place to run laps all day. The start is on a cool “castle” like feature with steep but easy drop ins to each of the trails branching off of it.

Razorback Greenway North Bentonville: (Green)

Just an easy path to access the different parts of the trail system or link trail systems together.

Lombard: (Green)

This is a very easy climbing trail to the top of the downhill trails. The very first section is a bit steep but after that is mellows out the rest of the way.

Uwabami: (Green)

This is a very mellow grade flow trail. If very new to mountain biking, this may be a good option for you to get your feet wet some. Berms aren’t steep, no jumps but do have the ability to pop off some of the pumps on here if you want. Speeds are as fast as your willing to pedal into it. A bit hard to maintain speed just due to such mild grades.

**Catapult: (Blue)

This was everyone’s favorite jump line when we rode here! A steep roll in from the start straight into a big berm. Expect massive table tops, huge berms, and a couple fun bridge jumps that the exits can be sent as drops if you want! Jumps are easy to hit and extremely well built. Tables are big enough to add some adrenaline, but small enough that you don’t have to be amazing at jumps to clear everything. Can exit near the bottom to avoid the steep section of the climb back to the top. Recommend this if wanting to run laps for a bit. If not, then can continue down to gravel road for a bit extra fun.

Medieval: (Blue)

Literally the same exact thing as Catapult but with significantly larger table tops. None of u are jumping pros and couldn’t clear any of these jumps and had more fun on Catapult as a result. But if you are good at jumps, you might enjoy this one even more.

**Dragon Scales: (Black)

This was our favorite trail of the day! This is one of the two tech trails from this downhill start zone. Both tech trails share the same drop in. Keep left at the drop in to follow this trail. It has a number of fun little rock drops followed by a few rock gardens and roots here and there. The rock gardens are made of rocks moved into the area and are designed to be more bumpy than to really throw you off your line. I would say the trail is more of a blue tech line than black and is a good progression trail for someone fairly new to mountain biking. You can absolutely bomb this trail and feel super cool doing it. A couple steep spots but overall nothing is too crazy!
