Glorrieta Adventure Camp Trail System:
This trail system is amazing! If you like fast, steep (and I mean steep!), loose, chunky descents then this place is for you! This is a Christian camp so there is camping and other amenities available. It is located about 20 minutes from Santa Fe, so getting a post ride Taco and Beer and very easy and well worth it! There are other fun things here to do as well such as zip lining or swimming in the lake which has an inflatable park in it!
A very easy trail. Its wide, smooth and big low grade berms. Not particularly flowy or fast unless willing to put in the work pedaling. It is however still fin and good warmup or a much more fun path than the road to pedal between ends of the park.
This was an amazingly fun trail. Fast tech flow is how I would classify this trail. A couple tight spots rolling through rock walls and a couple very steep and loose spots but mostly just tech flow fun! My wife road this trail as her third ever mountain bike trail and had an absolute blast. That being said, it is not beginner friendly. Definitely still challenging for a new rider but fin for experienced. A good trail to test a new rider looking to practice some mild sketch. Use the Ruiz Road access trail to climb to top of this trail. Not a bad climb for the most part.
Stage 1of the Revolution Enduro Race that came through here in May of 2023. Use the same road you use to climb for 30 Acre but will continue all the way up the road. This is a brutal climb. E-bikers will love it. The descent is fun but questionable if its worth the climb. The climb is brutal. The descent is an absolute blast. Long and fast and loose. Some neat sections! A test of endurance!
This trail is absolutely magnificent! Completely a technical heaven. Lots of big rock gardens, drops, and rollers. Some really fun A and B lines that will definitely test your abilities. You have the option to climb a gravel road to the top or hope off the road a little ways up and climb snack pack to the top. Not a bad climb at all. Views from the top are amazing as well. Best part, there is a bathroom at the top of the trail! The start of Holy Mole is also at the top of this as well.
A very fun tech flow trail. Lots of big and steep berms. Multiple sections have numerous line choices that make this a trail fun to ride over and over again to get some jumps, tech, and try out the different lines. Not a good beginner trail but good for an experienced newbie perhaps. Same climbing as Chili dog; You have the option to climb a gravel road to the top or hope off the road a little ways up and climb snack pack to the top. Not a bad climb at all. Views from the top are amazing as well. Best part, there is a bathroom at the top of the trail!
Not much to this. Just a climbing trail. Pretty easy but has a couple spots involving a bit of tech.
La Tierra:
This trail system is very accessible being within 20 minutes from Santa Fe. Truthfully, I only road a tiny fraction of trails in this system. I would say from what we saw, this is a fantastic area to learn and develop basic skills before going up and doing some big mountain rides. We saw tons of people out on the trails, so I assume there are some hidden gyms out here. But I can only say based on the 2 trails (and super short stints on other trails connecting to the trails below) what this system was like.
Only 1 mile long but the flow is amazing! it is a very mellow trail with lots of well built berms and jumps. Have to work for it a little bit to get started, but once moving, it is easy to maintain your speed. A great trail to take someone on who wants to see what mountain biking is like. It is also perfect to run lap after lap on to practice jumps on. The climb from the bottom is also only 1 mile back to the start and is extremely easy. Hardest part is the heat and lack of shade if coming out later in the day. Access this trail from the Calabasas Parking lot. Go across the road and get on Cuatro Arroyo for a short period until you intersect with Hustle and Flow.
This is also considered a flow trail, but I would suggest not using this as a downhill and riding this as a climb instead. This is the trail you would climb in order to get to the start of Hustle and Flow if wanting to run laps. It is only 1 mile long and extremely extremely easy. No tech or steep spots. One section that has semi loose pea gravel. Otherwise enjoy the endless laps you can run on Hustle and Flow climbing with this trail.
