Brevard, NC:

Dupont State Forest

***Ridgeline (Blue Flow Trail 1.5 mi):
THE flowiest trail you will ride east of the Mississippi. Located in Dupont State Forest, take Jim Branch to the gravel roads and take up to the Hickory Mountain loop if you want some extra climb and then descent. This trail has beautiful berms, great jumps, and some serious speeds!

Hickory Mountain Loop(Blue ):
A fun short loop that is worth adding to your ride if planning to ride Ridgeline. A fairly easy pedal to the top, space to relax up top, and a chunky fast descent! A great way to add a little extra to your descent down Ridgeline.

Big Rock Trail (Black XC Tech 1 mi):
Located at the bottom of Dupont, you ride on rock face of the mountain. Scenic, be careful if wet. My buddy and I both ate it on some wet rock slabs. Some playful lines the entire way making this really neat!

Asheville:

Pisgah National Forest

***Black Mountain Trail (Black Downhill mileage varies):
Have only done lower black mountain which is accessed using fire roads such as Avery Creek and Maxwell Cove to get to the top. There is an upper and middle section that can turn this ride into a very huge ride but a very fun ride from what I have heard. Definitely far more technical on the upper sections. Fast and flowy with some good black diamond tech with roots from the Pisgah. Very fun ride with some natural rock features.

***Kitsuma (Black Downhill 4 mi):
Fast, fast, and fast. Hold on tight. A local favorite trail and Pisgah must ride if you like speed and a ton of roots, known as the little brother of Heartbreak Ridge (a whole other story). You can bike up to the trailhead from the bottom for a little over 5 mile climb. Most of this is on pavement at a mild incline and isn’t bad until crossing the upper parking lot into the dirt climb loaded with steep switchbacks for just under 1 mile. Shuttling is also an option and easy if you have 2 cars.

Bent Creek Trails System

Green Lick (Black Downhill 2 mi):
Located in Bent Creek, very fast flowy trail with light tech, has some good rollers to jump if wanted, kind of a hike to get to it although.

Cherokee, NC:

Fire Mountain Trails

Kessels Run (Blue Flow):
Very comparable to Ridgeline in Dupont, but with the speed and flow, it also offers some good tables to jump. My favorite in the Fire Mountain system

Spearfinger (Blue Flow):
Easier than Kessels but fun to change up

Uktena (Blue Flow):
You can climb this trail or take down too. Offers some cool wood features and very flowy down hill

Boone, NC:

Beech Mountain (Lifted Downhill $35)

Green Mamba (Green):
Easiest trail there, good warmup to NC downhill with light tech, can link up to a fun jump line at the end with good tables and creek gaps.

Burmese Python (Blue):
Flowiest blue line with some of everything

Copperhead (Blue):
Harder blue with more tech

Black Bear (Black):
Chunky tech, very steep, hardest trail there

Rocky Knob

Rocky Branch Loop:
Uphill trail to Boat Rock Loop

Boat Rock Loop:
Uphill trail that connects to Ol Hoss. Not too bad a pedal.

Ol Hoss (Black):
Tech trail with some cool features, loops back to Boat Rock which goes to PBJ

***PBJ (blue jumpline):
Very well built jumpline, favorite trail at the park, tons of tables and spots you can session. Be warned, lots of rocks get kicked up . Super fast and fun.

Black Forest (Double Black):
Good luck. Just… goodluck
